Discrimination is any expression that suggests (a group of) people are 'inferior' in some way, for example on the basis of skin colour, religion, sexuality, sex or gender, nationality or ethnicity. If a production contains discrimination and the discriminatory action is not immediately condemned, the icon for discrimination is depicted.

Risks
It becomes normal
If discrimination is portrayed in media as something cool, there’s a chance that children start to normalize or even copy discriminatory behaviour.
Sexism
Sexism or anti-female behaviour is also a type of discrimination, and seeing sexism in media can have harmful effects. Research has shown this. Think, for example, of music videos that depict women as sex objects: this can lead to negative views of women.
