Feature films during the summer holiday

The summer holidays have started! Are you looking for a fun day out for the entire family? Because it's raining cats and dogs, or because it's scorching hot? Seeing a movie is always a good idea. Which films are in theatres during the summer, and which (age) classifications do they have? 

Kijkwijzer has created an overview of the family-friendly films that are in theatres this July and August. These films can be viewed in Dutch as well as in English (original version).

The Secret Life of Pets 2

The Secret Life of Pets 2 reveals what shenanigans our pets get into when we're away from home. In this sequel to The Secret Life of Pets we follow loyal terrier Max, lazy cat Chloe, plucky Pomeranian Gidget, lady-killer Mel, grumpy Duke, silly Norbert and the crazy-but-cute bunny Snowball. 

Toy Story 4

Woody has always had faith in his place in the world. His biggest priority is taking care of Andy and Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a new toy called Forky to her room, Woody goes on an adventure with old and new friends to discover how big a toy's world can actually be. 

Ugly Dolls (from 31 July)

Far, far away, in a strange land where Ugly and Perfect Dolls co-exist in peace, lives the ugly Moxy. Moxy is a cute and sweet Ugly Doll who is full of energy. One day, she decides to conquer her fears and become the first Ugly Doll to go to the Perfect Dolls' elite school - something that has never been done before. She wants to become the first Ugly Doll who is cherished by a child for an entire lifetime. During her quest, Moxy must change her own world and prove that beauty doesn't have to be perfect. But when she enters the human world, not everything goes according to plan...

Playmobil the Movie (from 7 August)

When her younger brother Charlie suddenly disappears into the magical, animated universe of Playmobil, Marla embarks on the quest of her life. While travelling through breathtaking new worlds, Marla works together with some brave new friends - truck driver Del, charismatic secret agent Rex Dasher, a cute but clumsy robot, an extravagant fairy and many, many more. During their adventure, Marla and Charlie realise that sometimes, life doesn't go according to plan. But as long as you believe in yourself, you can do anything you set your mind to.

Angry Birds 2 (from 21 August)

The fight between the angry birds and the mean green pigs gets a new twist in Angry Birds 2. When something dangerous threatens both Bird Island and Pig Island, Red, Chuck, Bomb and Mighty Eagle decide to enlist Chuck's sister Silver and work together with pigs Leonard, his assistant Courtney and their technician Garry. The birds and pigs call a truce and assemble in a superteam to save both their islands.
