De dappere en optimistische Anna onderneemt samen met de ruige bergbewoner Kristoff en zijn trouwe rendier Sven een legendarisch avontuur om haar zus Elsa te vinden. Haar ijskrachten houden het koninkrijk Arendelle gevangen in een eeuwige winter. Hoog in de bergen ontmoeten Anna en Kristoff mythische trollen en een hilarische sneeuwman die Olaf heet. Daarnaast moeten ze barre omstandigheden zien te overwinnen om het koninkrijk te redden.
