The film The Hangover was originally rated by the distributor in 2009, at 12 years due to violence and coarse language. For the category smoking, alcohol and drugs, an 'all ages' rating applied at the time. In the meantime, however, Kijkwijzer's criteria in this category have been changed and added to. The distributor has now re-rated the film according to the updated criteria and has reached an age rating of 16 years due to sex and smoking, alcohol and drugs, with a warning for coarse language.
